LSU, Shell Establishing Institute for Energy Innovation

With a $27.5 million gift from Shell USA, Inc., Louisiana State University is establishing the new Institute for Energy Innovation that will advance reliable, affordable, environmentally responsible energy.

Advancing Innovation
and Inclusion

Studies at the center will focus on hydrogen, carbon capture, the coast and low-carbon fuels, as well as specialties for workforce solutions: talent, research and development, policy and economics.

A total of $6.4 million of the gift is dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives centered on faculty, student support and workforce development.

Included within the space will be a CCUS-focused energy incubator, providing seamless integration with the work of the Institute for Energy Innovation.
